Dr. Amir-Hossein Mehran is a licensed surgeon specializing in surgical treatments related to obesity and complex GI issues. Based in Thousand Oaks, California, Dr. Mehran’s career has been dedicated solely to the surgical management of these two conditions.
Dr. Mehran completed a four-year medical doctor degree program at Duke University School of Medicine in 1994 after completing his undergraduate studies at Brown University. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco, and the St Barnabas Medical Center/Rutgers Health. To refine his expertise in advanced minimally invasive GI surgery, he completed a Fellowship in Advanced GI Minimally Invasive Surgery through the Cleveland Clinic – located in Florida – between 2002 and 2003.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mehran has held numerous academic and leadership positions, including serving as Director of Surgery at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) and an Associate Professor of Surgery at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He has also served as Chief of Surgery at Los Robles Regional Medical Center and currently participates in surgical education as a faculty member for the General Surgery Residency Program.
