I spent 4 hours in the emergency department before healthcare workers figured out there was something seriously wrong. A CT scan revealed I had a bowel obstruction, something fatal if not dealt with quickly. Dr. Dugan was on call and was called out of bed. He looked at the CT and was the only doctor to find it was a closed loop obstruction, the worst kind. Dr, Dugan got to the hospital quickly and performed the emergency surgery. Dr. Dugan saved my life. I’ll always be grateful to him. He’s a gifted surgeon!
