B. Shelby Eich II, MD, is a board-certified surgeon specializing in plastic surgery and who also trained extensively in both types of surgeries. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine with his medical degree in 1992 and then completed residency training in general surgery at The University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham (1992-1997). He completed an integrated residency in plastic surgery at The University of Alabama Hospital from 1997-1999, thus honing his skills and developing a strong foundation in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery techniques. Dr. Eich is certified through the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and maintains a current medical license from the State of Alabama since 1993.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Eich has contributed to the medical literature with his co-authored publication detailing the use of Dall-Miles cable system in treating patients who have a sternal nonunion. His contributions demonstrate his commitment to improving the outcome of surgery and advancing techniques used for reconstructive purposes. Dr. Eich continues to hold himself to a very high standard of excellence, both in his practice and in his contributions to the academic literature in the area of plastic surgery.
