About Ashutosh Shah, MB, MS, MCh

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon (‘Paediatrician-Adult’) Ashutosh Shah, MB, MS, MCh, has more than 25 years of experience within the field. As the Director of Elegance Clinic, Dr. Shah has gained a national and international reputation for his clinical expertise in Aesthetic Surgery, Reconstructive Surgery and Microvascular Surgery.

Dr. Shah graduated from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda with an MCh in Plastic Surgery before receiving the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Plastic Surgery from the National Board of Examinations on 28 February 2006. He has completed an extensive course in Microvascular Surgery at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, and is a trained Surgeon with Apollo Hospital, Chennai.

Dr. Shah’s clinical practice focuses on both the aesthetic (cosmetic), and reconstructive aspects of surgery (i.e., Facial Surgery, Breast Surgery, Body Contouring) as well as procedures for reconstruction after traumatic injury, treatment of congenital malformations, treatment for severe burn injuries and treatment of Hand Injuries. In addition, Dr. Shah is also skilled in Complex Micro-Vascular Techniques used in Advanced Reconstructive Surgery.

A significant milestone in Dr. Shah’s career was when he successfully led the team that performed the world’s first Bilateral Hand Transplant at a government hospital in Gujarat, India. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Shah plays an active role in training the next generation of Plastic Surgeons by establishing a not-for-profit organization called Elegance Vidhyala. This organization focuses on the education and training of future Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Shah regularly attends and lectures at National and International Plastic Surgery Meetings. He is also a member of multiple National and International Professional Societies.
