About Ashraf Abolfotooh Khalil, MD

Ashraf Abolfotooh Khalil, MD, EBOPRAS, MRCS, is an esteemed Egyptian plastic surgeon who serves as a Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Kasr El-Aini, Cairo University. He has more than 20 years of experience as a consultant to hospitals both in Egypt and globally, with his clinical practice being primarily focused on reconstructive, aesthetic, breast, facial and hand surgery.

Dr Khalil completed his MBBCh, MSc and MD degrees at Cairo University, focusing primarily on research involving perforator-based flaps and scar optimisation in breast reduction. He holds Fellowship status with the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, and Membership status with the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He has also received training at leading international centres, including Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, Glasgow; Marien Hospital, Stuttgart; Saint Louis Hospital, Paris; and Rechts der Isar Hospital, Munich, focusing primarily on microsurgery, breast reconstruction, aesthetic surgery and head and neck reconstruction.

Dr Khalil has dedicated himself to educating medical students and surgical trainees at Cairo University since 2003, and he continues to participate actively in both workshops and conferences as well as a number of different professional organisations, including the Egyptian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the Egyptian Society of Hand Surgery, and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. With the combination of a broad range of international clinical training and many years of surgical experience, Dr Khalil is dedicated to providing patients with the highest standard of patient-centred care and maximally optimising their surgical outcomes.
