Ashley Katherine Lentz, MD, is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with deep roots in both a personal and professional capacity in the Daytona Beach area. Dr. Lentz received her M.D. from the University of Florida and completed her general surgery residency, as well as her plastic surgery residency, in Gainesville, Florida. Throughout her residency, Dr. Lentz received numerous accolades; among them were Intern of the Year and Chief Resident Teacher of the Year, which reflect her commitment to education and her skills in clinic practice.
After Dr. Lentz completed her residency, she completed a pediatric plastic surgery fellowship in Chicago, Illinois, giving her advanced training and understanding of complex reconstructive surgery as it relates to children. After 9 years of surgical training, Dr. Lentz returned to the University of Florida to become an Assistant Professor and to continue her training of surgical residents. She won multiple teaching awards while serving as Co-Director of the University of Florida’s Craniofacial Clinic and treating those children with cleft lip and palate.
In addition to her dedication to her patients, Dr. Lentz has participated in multiple global health mission trips that provide surgical care to the underprivileged, including her annual trip to Honduras. In 2016, she was able to return to her hometown to continue the legacy of her family’s private practice and to was able to offer comprehensive cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery while also continuing her work.
