About Ashkan Afshari, MD

Dr. Ashkan Afshari, MD, is a dual board-certified plastic surgeon practicing in Orlando, Florida, servicing the areas of the entire body, breast, and face. Dr. Afshari has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Miami, a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University, and a medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine.

He pursued a five-year residency in general surgery as a resident physician at the University of South Carolina/Palmetto Health, becoming board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, followed by highly challenging training in plastic and reconstructive surgery as a resident physician at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. There, his research concentration was also on safety and innovation in aesthetic surgery. Dr. Afshari became a double board-certified surgeon, as he is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Afshari is a candidate member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and has presented research studies at premier publications such as the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal.
