About Asaad H. Samra, MD, FACS

Asaad H. Samra, MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with extensive training in cosmetic as well as reconstructive procedures. From New Jersey, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Johns Hopkins University, as well as his medical degree from UMDNJ -Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Dr. Samra completed his integrated residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, within the Texas Medical Center. Dr. Samra had exposure to prestigious institutions like The Methodist Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Center during his residency training. His areas of interest include aesthetic surgery, breast reconstruction, hand surgery, and trauma reconstruction.

He has been boarded in the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 2008. In practicing as a private physician, Dr. Samra has been taking on different administrative capacities in a hospital setting. These involvements include being the Medical Director of The Center for Wound Healing at the Bayshore Medical Center since 2008, during which the center won back-to-back awards as a Center of Excellence. Dr. Samra was the Chief of Surgery from 2015 until 2019 and is the present Vice President of the Medical Staff.

Dr. Samra has been awarded many professional honors, such as Top Doctor awards and awards for physicians. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a member of the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
