About Aron Kressel, MD

Aron Kressel, MD, is a plastic surgeon with more than 20 years of clinical experience and is Board Certified in both plastic surgery and surgery (by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and American Board of Surgery). He has gained a reputation as an expert in reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries and for over 20 years, he has served as the Chief of the Section of Plastic and Hand Surgery at Metropolitan Hospital – New York City, where he treats patients with complex trauma, as well as specializes in the pediatric reconstruction of defects resulting from cleft lips and palates, as well as adult patients requiring reconstructive surgery of their breasts (including mastectomy).

Dr. Kressel also provides breast reconstruction services for patients at Queens Hospital Center and has previously been part of the Medical Staff for the New York Rangers NHL hockey club. Dr. Kressel’s interest in educating other healthcare providers about medicine extends far beyond the walls of his practice. He currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine (Mount Sinai) and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery at New York Medical College. His undergraduate education was completed at Columbia College, and he earned his MD from Rutgers Medical School. He completed both his General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residencies at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital, respectively.

In addition to his practice in New York, Dr. Kressel has also volunteered his time overseas on various international medical missions, including Project Hue in Vietnam, where he took part in providing care to patients affected by war.
