About Anup Patel, MD, MBA, FACS

Dr. Anup Patel is a certified plastic surgeon who specializes in both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. He completed training in plastic reconstructive surgery at Yale University and then followed this up with a prestigious Fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery through the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, NYU, and Mount Sinai. Also of note, he graduated from Yale University with his MD and MBA and was named valedictorian from the University of Florida’s Business School, where he studied Economics, Biochemistry, and Molecular Genetics.

Dr. Patel participates in academic medicine and has national leadership roles. He served previously on the Board of Directors and the Government Affairs Committee for the American Society for Plastic Surgeons and continues to be an editor for both the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and PRS Global Open journals, where he leads an international initiative for educating surgeons on the appropriate techniques for performing reconstructive procedures. Additionally, he is a reviewer for the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.

Dr. Patel is an outstanding researcher and has published more than sixty peer-reviewed publications regarding reconstructive surgery, including topics such as Aesthetic Surgery, Hand Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Burns, Craniofacial Surgery, and Peripheral Nerve Conditions. He has been awarded the Nobel Laureate Joseph E. Murray Award due to his achievements in everyday medical research on skin cancer. Dr. Patel also is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is committed to providing safe, high-quality surgical care.
