About Ankit Desai, MD

Dr. Ankit Desai is a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 15 years of experience providing aesthetic and reconstructive procedures. He is based in Jacksonville, FL, where he has gained a reputation for his expertise in the areas of microsurgical breast reconstruction, breast augmentation, facial rejuvenation, liposuction, and comprehensive mommy makeovers. His unique approach to each procedure combines advanced surgical skills with an artist’s eye, producing natural-looking, individualized results for each patient.

Raised in Jacksonville, Dr. Desai studied biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University before choosing medicine as a career and was accepted into the highly regarded Junior Honors Medical Program at the University of Florida, where he received his medical degree and served as president of his class for four years. Following his graduation from medical school, Dr. Desai completed his integrated plastic surgery residency at Saint Louis University and then completed an advanced fellowship in aesthetic surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Desai has held several leadership positions, including Chief of Plastic Surgery at Baptist Jacksonville, Baptist Beaches, and St. Vincent’s Riverside; Chief of Surgery at Baptist South Hospital; and Chief of Staff at Baptist South Hospital. Dr. Desai is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a published researcher, educator, and multiple-time Top Doctor honoree. Outside of surgery, Dr. Desai engages in community service, advocates for breast cancer awareness and spends time with his family.
