About Anke Ott Young, MD

Dr. Anke Ott Young, MD, PhD, is a highly regarded, transformative plastic surgeon with expertise working with patients who need breast reconstructive surgery due to complications or aggressive surgery. Dr. Young is based in Garden City (Long Island), New York and is part of the well-established Norma F. Pfriem Breast Cancer Center in Fairfield, Connecticut, one of only 300 breast centers recognized by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) throughout the U.S.

Dr. Young’s expertise includes 17 years of working with patients who require oncoplastic surgery, pre-pectoral implant reconstruction, direct implants into the breast following oncoplastic surgery, autologous fat grafting, and revision procedures (scar reduction). Dr. Young completed her fellowship training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and became board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Her excellence in surgery earned her numerous awards, including the Patients’ Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Award.

Dr. Young was born and received her medical education and doctorate (PhD) from Saarland University in Germany, but moved to New York after finishing her surgical training in Germany to begin her practice. In addition, Dr. Young has both hospital privileges at New Haven Health Bridgeport Hospital and NYU Winthrop Hospital, and is a member of leading professional organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Fluent in four languages, Dr. Young enjoys spending time outside of her busy practice on personal or fitness pursuits.
