About Anire Okpaku, MD FACS

Dr. Anire Okpaku, M.D., FACS, has double board certification in plastic surgery by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. A former member of the Marine Corps and Jiu-Jitsu World Champion, Dr. Okpaku possesses remarkable levels of discipline, precision, and unwavering dedication in every phase of his surgical practice. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomat of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Okpaku obtained his M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, before completing a General Surgery Residency at The University of Miami, and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Residency at the University of Texas. He has spent many years practicing in Miami and Fort Lauderdale and now resides in Austin, Texas.

Dr. Okpaku is recognized as a surgeon who emphasizes patient-centered care, which includes providing his patients with the knowledge and understanding necessary to prepare themselves physically and mentally for their surgeries, as well as for post-surgical recovery. He emphasizes the importance of practical steps, such as frequent walking to maintain good circulation, as well as antibacterial washing of surgical sites, as an important part of one’s surgical process, with the goal of promoting healing and reducing the likelihood of complications.

In addition to his medical profession, Dr. Okpaku has an active lifestyle in part due to his previous commitments to the military and sports. He remains active in martial arts training as well as maintaining a focus on physical fitness. Dr. Okpaku’s combined expertise, integrity and genuine concern for each of his patients create a unique approach in the practice of Plastic Surgery.
