About Amy S. Bekanich, MD

Dr. Amy Sanders Bekanich is a plastic surgeon board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery located in Austin, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from Westminster College in Salt Lake City and attended Oregon Health and Sciences University’s School of Medicine for her medical degree. Following medical school, Dr. Bekanich completed her General Surgery and Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery residencies at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center. After completing residency, Dr. Bekanich completed an Aesthetic Surgery and Advanced Fat Grafting Fellowship in Miami, Florida.

Part of her residency involved training with leaders in the field of reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Since 2010, Dr. Bekanich has been in private practice focusing on cosmetic breast augmentation, facial rejuvenation, and body contouring. She emphasizes her philosophy of working with patients to develop strong, meaningful relationships and ultimately create the optimal personalized results and instill confidence through natural-appearing results.

With a long history of serving as a clinical educator and being active as a volunteer with the Austin Smiles Foundation, as well as continuing to develop her expertise through national conferences, Dr. Bekanich is committed to helping her patients achieve transformation and wants them to feel like themselves again.

In her spare time, Dr. Bekanich participates in philanthropy, enjoys playing tennis and swimming, works with her family on projects, and takes care of her pets. In addition to her dedication as an accomplished physician, she has been honored as one of America’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly in 2024.
