About Amy K. Alderman, MD, FACS, MPH

Dr. Amy K. Alderman, MD, FACS, MPH, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has gained national recognition for her compassionate approach, precise technique, and commitment to patient-oriented care. Patients report that their first meeting with Dr. Alderman feels like meeting an old friend, as someone who takes the time to listen carefully and understand what their goals are, then develops a customized surgical plan that fits into their lives. The areas of surgical expertise of Dr. Alderman include breast surgery, body contouring and facial rejuvenation (as well as operations that are appropriate for both women and men of every age).

Dr. Alderman graduated first in her class from the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Medicine and completed an exceptionally competitive integrated plastic surgery residency program at the University of Michigan, where she also earned a Master’s in Public Health through the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program. Subsequently, she was appointed to the University of Michigan faculty as a tenured Associate Professor and specializes in breast reconstruction, cosmetic surgery, and research into improving patient safety.

As a well-known practitioner in the field, Dr. Alderman has hosted over 200 national speaking engagements, written extensively about plastic surgery, organized multiple plastic surgery conferences, and currently serves as a Director for The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). She has received many accolades, including the title of best plastic surgeon in Atlanta, as well as numerous patient satisfaction awards.

Currently, Dr. Alderman operates North Atlanta Plastic Surgery, where she practices state-of-the-art plastic surgery techniques while providing her patients with an honest, caring interaction that allows them to regain their self-esteem and improve their self-image.
