About Alina Sholar, MD

Dr. Alina Sholar, MD, is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and an advocate for female-led healthcare businesses. She is the founder, Serenity Medical Centers, Skin Science Soul, and Sage Practice Solutions. Dr. Sholar mentors women across the world in medicine, STEM, and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Sholar obtained her BS in Biomedical Sciences, Magna Cum Laude, from Texas A&M University through a full-tuition merit scholarship and completed medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Sholar completed a five-year General Surgery residency at the University of Louisville (including Chief Resident) and a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery residency at the University of Tennessee (also Chief Resident). Dr. Sholar’s training involved aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, craniofacial surgery, microsurgery, hand surgery, burn surgery, and laser surgery.

Dr. Sholar has worked in surgical research on publications in Perfusion, Annals of Surgical Oncology, and Annals of Plastic Surgery, as well as taking part in medical missions to Panama to complete cleft lip and palate repairs. She was also certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 2008 and completed training with the WHO and Johns Hopkins, learning about pandemic preparedness.

Her practice emphasizes patient-centered care, professional development, and innovation while leading initiatives in mentoring and global health, and aims to have a long-lasting impact on medicine and women’s leadership.
