About Alexandra Schmidt, MD

Alexandra C. Schmidt, MD, MS, is board-certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery, known for her specialized training, attention to technique, and empathetic approach to patient care. Dr. Schmidt is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The Aesthetic Society, and remains dedicated to a standard of safety, innovation, and aesthetic excellence.

Dr. Schmidt received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University and subsequently earned her medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She completed six years of top-tier plastic surgery training at Washington University in St. Louis, which included one of the most selective integrated programs in the nation. To further her expertise in aesthetic surgery, Dr. Schmidt pursued a very selective Aesthetic Society–endorsed fellowship at Hunstad/Kortesis/Bharti Cosmetic Surgery, taught by leading authorities in body contouring and facial rejuvenation.

Currently, Dr. Schmidt is the head of Vermont Plastic Surgery located in Williston, Vermont, where many advanced options for facial aesthetics, body contouring, breast surgery, and post–weight loss surgeries are offered. She is especially known for her ability with facelifts, necklifts, complex body contouring, and eyelid surgery.

Dr. Schmidt was raised in the Upper Valley of Vermont and now lives in the vicinity with her husband, two sons, and family Vizsla. When not in the operating room, Dr. Schmidt enjoys reading, hiking, CrossFit, traveling, and is fluent in French.
