About Alexander G. Nein, MD, MS, FACS

Alexander G. Nein, MD, MS, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon recognized for superior skills, extensive experience, and an emphasis on patient-centered treatment in both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. Dr. Nein is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and was previously certified by the American Board of Surgery. He utilizes his surgical training and engineering experience to provide the highest level of precision and artistry in all his work.

He completed his general surgery residency at Louisiana State University and went on to complete his advanced plastic surgery training at Vanderbilt University, one of the finest programs in the nation. His clinical experience includes cosmetic surgery, breast surgery, and body contouring. He has published original research in the Journal of Trauma, Cardiovascular Surgery, and The Louisiana State Medical Society Journal.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Nein has extended his altruism as a volunteer for Operation Smile and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, IPRAS. He has an interest and broad volunteer experience in providing life-transforming service to people with facial deformities around the world.

Dr. Nein, who is a trained mechanical engineer with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and an ongoing passion for “body engineering,” offers unique technical insight, judgment, and compassion to his practice in Nashville, TN, while skillfully balancing patient safety and comfort with always achieving incredible aesthetic results.
