About Alex Kim, MD

Alex Kim, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Beverly Hills, recognized for both his advanced skills and global perspective, as well as his caring approach to patient care. Born and raised in Japan, Dr. Kim attended Nagasaki University School of Medicine and started his career as a plastic surgeon in Japan, but then relocated to the United States in 1986. He completed his training in surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Loma Linda University Medical Center, and then participated in a very competitive plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Kim developed his private practice in Beverly Hills in 1997 and is now recognized for generating a natural, refined result in facial, breast, and body procedures. He specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, performing over 3,000 breast augmentations/reconstructions. He also specializes in aesthetic surgery and body contouring techniques that elegantly balance safety, symmetry and individualized results.

Dr. Kim is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and he is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has volunteered in multiple countries, including Nigeria, Vietnam, Mexico, Peru, and Ethiopia, with organizations such as Project Vietnam, Open Heart Foundation, and Ethiopia HealthAid.
