About Alberto Arguello, MD

Dr. Alberto J. Argüello is board-certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery in Costa Rica and is internationally renowned for his excellence, leadership, and commitment to patient safety. He graduated with specifications from the University of Costa Rica, and completed his advanced surgical training at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, where he received his plastic surgery certification in 2005.

He is the founder and CEO of the Advanced Center of Plastic Surgery in San José, Costa Rica. He has held multiple local and international leadership positions, including President of the Costa Rican Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (three terms), and service on the Board of Directors of the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities for 14 years.

He has also served on the global stage as a visiting professor, an editorial board member for the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, and a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).

Dr. Argüello has also completed fellowship training at such prestigious institutions as Johns Hopkins University, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Shriners Burns Hospital for Children. In his practice, he and his talented team prioritize an individualized care approach, guiding each patient through their journey towards a natural, safe, and satisfying result in aesthetic and reconstructive surgical care.
