About Al Cohn, MD

Dr. Al Cohn, a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, desires to create an atmosphere where every patient has a safe, customized, and enjoyable plastic surgery experience. Dr. Cohn originally hails from Columbus, Georgia. He has been in the Birmingham area since 2006 and uses technical skill, artistic vision, and compassion to achieve results that are natural and beautiful.

At Cohn Plastic Surgery, Dr. Cohn and his staff focus on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, and body, including a special interest in complex breast reconstruction. Cohn Plastic Surgery is committed to providing its patients the highest standard of care, making certain patients feel confident and cared for during the process, in conjunction with their safe experience.

Dr. Cohn completed a fellowship in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery under the auspices of prominent plastic surgeon Dr. James Grotting, honing his expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast and body. His research has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals, and he has received numerous awards for his presentations at national and regional academic meetings.

When not in medicine, Dr. Cohn is a husband and father of three daughters. He enjoys skiing, jogging, traveling, supporting local charities, and volunteering, which shows his dedication to his patient family as well as to his local community.
