Biography

Dr. Azure Gail Adkins is board-certified to practice general surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive, robotic, and bariatric surgical procedures. With an early love for hands-on activities (e.g., robotics and origami), Dr. Adkins discovered her true vocation was in surgery, as it required a combination of technical skill and precision, as well as offering patients compassionate care. Dr. Adkins is committed to helping her patients navigate through their often-complicated and stressful medical journey by promoting openness in communication with her patients, emphasizing the importance of being transparent about the treatment process, and providing a “patient first” approach to care. Dr. Adkins provides the same level of care and consideration to every patient that she would provide to a family member.

Dr. Adkins has an active license to practice in Texas and Oklahoma, and is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. She has participated in a variety of clinical research projects and has made significant contributions in the area of clinical publications surrounding postoperative outcomes related to pancreatic surgery. Through her clinical practice, Dr. Adkins continues to strive for excellence in delivering surgical care, while always focusing on improving patient safety, innovating new techniques, and improving patient outcomes.
