Dr. Avishai Meyer, MD is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), American College of Surgeons (ACS), and Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT). Dr. Meyer is a clinical instructor for surgical residents at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital and has volunteered his time to provide surgical care at several charity clinics in Oregon and Mexico.
As an accomplished surgeon, Dr. Meyer continues to be involved in cutting-edge research and clinical trials, with a focus on minimizing the negative impact of surgeries on patient recovery times. His advancing knowledge of new technologies has also been used to improve surgical outcomes for patients undergoing obesity treatments, as well as demonstrate to patients how to improve their quality of life through healthy eating habits and regular physical activity.
Through his efforts to educate the public about the health benefits of healthy foods and physical fitness, Dr. Meyer has been a leader in the field of nutrition and physical fitness. Dr. Meyer has been awarded numerous honors for his dedication to his patients and contributions to advancing the surgical profession since he began practicing surgery more than 15 years ago.
