About Dr. Augustus E. Lyons

Dr. Augustus E. Lyons is a board-certified General Surgeon devoted to providing high-quality surgical care to patients. He has extensive training in general surgery with expertise in both traditional and minimally invasive techniques for assessing and treating medical conditions surgically, focusing on using evidence-based best practices and the most current techniques available to achieve the best possible results for his patients. Dr. Lyons is completely committed to providing a safe and effective surgical experience for every patient he sees, considering patient safety during the surgical continuum of care.

Dr. Lyons completed his MD at The University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio in 1999 and completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center from 1999 to 2004. While completing his surgical residency training, he improved his technical skill set through the use of both standard techniques relating to general surgery. He is a Board-Certified Surgeon by the American Board of Surgery and is also licensed to practice as a surgeon in Texas.

Dr. Lyons is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and is a current member of several professional surgical organizations committed to furthering excellence in Surgical Practice through continuing medical education.
