About Dr. Asok Doraiswamy

Dr. Asok Doraiswamy is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in advanced gastrointestinal and minimally invasive surgical procedures. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2001 and completed his general surgery residency program at the University of California, Davis Health from 2001 to 2006, where he received extensive experience in complex surgical care and patient-centered care. He then went on to complete an Advanced GI Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, during which time he received specialized training using laparoscopic techniques to improve surgical accuracy and decrease the time it takes for a patient to recover after surgery, and to improve the long-term results or outcomes of surgery.

Dr. Doraiswamy is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery as well as currently licensed to practice medicine in California. He has been honored by the American College of Surgeons’ Fellow designation (FACS), which indicates a surgeon has demonstrated a commitment to upholding the highest levels of patient safety and excellence in their chosen profession. He has also achieved CMS Meaningful Use Certification for his successful use of Electronic Health Record systems in order to provide patients with increased clinical efficiency.
