Dr. Ashraf A. Hilmy, MD, FACS, is an exquisitely trained and experienced professional who has dedicated his career to advancing patient care through innovative and cutting-edge approaches in General Surgery, Anesthesiology, and Critical Care Medicine. At the suggestion of his family physician during high school, Dr. Hilmy pursued a medical degree from Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine in 1980. This gave him a well-rounded educational foundation to prepare him for postgraduate clinical training in the United States, which included performing an internship within Internal Medicine and a residency training program in Anesthesiology at New York Medical College Metropolitan Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Hilmy completed an additional residency in General Surgery through Scott White Medical Center and received his degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine.
Dr. Hilmy has earned Board Certification from the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Anesthesiology and also holds certification in Critical Care Medicine. Furthermore, Dr. Hilmy’s various post-graduate training programs demonstrate his dedication to educating himself both on the clinical side of healthcare as well as the administrative side of healthcare by receiving a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Administration from the University of Texas – Pan American.
