Asahel L. Gridley, MD, is a surgeon who has attained full accreditation from the American Board of General Surgery. He trained extensively in many types of surgery with a focus on treating gastrointestinal problems and complications caused by excessive weight. He graduated from the medical branch at the University of Texas Medical School in 2008, establishing a solid foundation for his future work in clinical practice and patient care. Dr. Asahel finished his General Surgery residency at Ochsner Clinic Foundation between 2008 and 2013, providing him with experience performing complex surgical procedures using various surgical techniques while delivering patient-centered outcomes.
After completing his residency, Dr. Asahel pursued a fellowship in Advanced GI Minimally Invasive Surgery that was offered at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston from 2013-2014. During this time, Asahel had the opportunity to gain specialty training in both laparoscopic and other minimally invasive surgical techniques that focus on improving surgical outcomes and reducing recovery time. Dr. Asahel is an active member of the American Board of Surgery, and he is licensed to practice surgery in Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
