Dr. Arthur M. Carlin, MD, FACS, is an accomplished general and bariatric surgeon and a board-certified general surgeon who has achieved recognition at Wayne State University School of Medicine as a Professor and Director of General Surgery. He obtained his degree from Wayne State University, finishing with High Distinction and was a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, which recognizes excellence in academics and leadership skills while in medical school.
Dr. Carlin also completed his general surgery residency training at Wayne State University to develop a strong foundation of advanced surgical skills for all types of surgery. He joined the Henry Ford Medical Group in 2003; since then, he has held many leadership positions, for example, Division Head of General Surgery and Vice-Chairman in the Department of Surgery.
Dr. Carlin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and Fellow in the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and he has performed over 2,000 laparoscopic procedures. Dr. Carlin has been an active member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the International Fusion Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
