Dr. Arsalla Islam, MD, FASMBS, is a vascular, endovascular and bariatric surgeon with board certification in each specialty and vast experience performing minimally invasive and advanced laparoscopic surgeries. She is currently practicing as a bariatric surgeon at My Bariatric Solutions, and is recognized as one of the few Alliance medical community surgeons trained to perform vascular and metabolic weight loss surgery.
Dr. Islam received her medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Pakistan. She completed her general surgery residency and a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Texas, then completed a second fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina.
Before joining My Bariatric Solutions, Dr. Islam worked as an Assistant Professor and Director of Bariatric Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center; she also acted as an Assistant Program Director for the Laparoscopic/Bariatric Fellowship Program there. Her extensive specialty-oriented clinical experience includes treating morbid obesity, gallbladder disease & hernias, vascular disorders, carotid artery disease, laparoscopic splenectomy and performing access procedures for dialysis.
