About Dr. Archana Ramaswamy

Dr. Archana Ramaswamy, MD, FACS, is a general surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive surgeries like bariatric surgery and abdominal wall repairs. She did her medical studies at McGill University Faculty of Medicine, which gave her a solid knowledge base in surgical medicine as well as care of patients from the surgeon’s perspective.

Dr. Ramaswamy is Board Certified in Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. She is licensed to practice medicine in several states, including Minnesota, Missouri, and Georgia. Being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), one of the few surgeons recognized with this honor, is a reflection of her dedication to the highest possible levels of surgical competence, ethics, and patient safety.

In her work, she focuses mainly on hernia surgery, general surgery of the digestive system, weight-loss surgery, and improving the results of patients after surgery. Among other peer-reviewed publications, her research on mesh prophylaxis aimed at preventing incisional hernias associated with complex abdominal operations has been published. In addition, she has been acknowledged through CMS Meaningful Use Certification as an indicator of her dedication to quality patient care and efficient use of health care technology.

Dr. Ramaswamy is a member of a number of professional associations, including the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). She is also a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), which aims at the advancement of minimally invasive and metabolic surgeries.
