About Dr. Antonio Cueva, MD

Dr. Antonio Cueva is a seasoned bariatric and minimally invasive surgeon who enjoys doing surgeries that help lose weight, metabolic procedures, as well as operating using advanced laparoscopic techniques. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from La Salle University Faculty of Medicine in Mexico City and underwent his general surgery training at ISSSTE Regional Hospital Lic. Adolfo López Mateos. Subsequently, he carried out further academic and clinical training at the Autonomous University of Baja California and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), thereby attaining additional knowledge and skill in contemporary surgical methods.

As an acknowledgment that his knowledge and skills qualifications are at the top of their form, Dr. Cueva is certified by the American Board of Surgery- General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery. He has spent the last 18 years deepening his knowledge in the field of surgery, during which time he has operated on thousands of bariatric surgeries, significantly changed the lives of many people, and helped them get to live nice, healthy, and energetic lives after surgery. His leading types of surgeries are the gastric sleeve and the gastric bypass.

Basically, he is a member of a few professional organizations, such as the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), Mexican Association of Endoscopic Surgery, and the Mexican College of Obesity Surgery and Metabolic Diseases.
