Dr. Anthony John Wright is a licensed general surgeon with certification from the American Board of Surgery who specializes in Bariatric Surgery (the surgical treatment of obesity), Minimally Invasive Surgery, and Complex Gastrointestinal Surgery. After completing an MD at the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine, Dr. Wright completed his general surgery residency training at USA Health. During that time, he gained significant clinical experience with advanced surgical techniques and patient-centered surgical care.
Dr. Wright is committed to improving patient outcomes with evidence-based surgical approaches and has been involved in many medical research publication efforts in peer-reviewed medical journals. He has published on a variety of subjects, including trauma care, vascular physiology, and nutrition as they relate to surgical procedures, which illustrates his broad and interdisciplinary approach to providing surgical care and improving patient health.
Dr. Wright is currently Board-Certified by the American Board of Surgery and maintains active medical licenses in Alabama and Florida in order to provide surgical services in multiple states for patients who need them. He is also recognized for his dedication to providing clinical excellence through being certified for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Meaningful Use by demonstrating his commitment to utilizing information technology and quality performance improvement in regard to how he cares for patients.
