About Dr. Ankit D. Patel

Dr. Ankit D. Patel is a distinguished surgeon whose practice encompasses many specialties, including general surgery, minimally invasive surgery, bariatric surgery and surgery utilizing robotic techniques. He currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Emory University School of Medicine and has achieved recognition in his field through his ability to utilize state-of-the-art technologies such as robotic-assisted surgery, surgical techniques for complex hernia repairs and bariatric surgery, which has allowed patients to experience improved surgical results.

Dr. Patel has a strong academic pedigree with respect to all of his medical education completed through Emory University, as he received his MD, completed his surgical residency and internship, as well as fellowships in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. His clinical efforts are geared towards the integration and utilization of robotic technology into both gastrointestinal and bariatric surgical cases in order to enhance the precision of surgical techniques, which provides both shorter recovery times and improved long-term success rates for patients.
