Dr. Anisur Rahman, D.O. is a board-certified general surgeon who has specialized training and experience in advanced surgical care and the treatment of gastrointestinal disease. He graduated from the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001, and he completed his surgical internship and residency at St. Barnabas Hospital from 2001 through 2006. Dr. Rahman is currently licensed to practice medicine in New York. He has also held medical licensure in both Michigan and Wisconsin. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, and he is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Dr. Rahman has made numerous noteworthy contributions to medical literature. He has authored multiple case reports regarding rare surgical diseases, including emphysematous gastritis and gallstone ileus. He has devoted much of his clinical practice to delivering comprehensive surgical care that emphasizes patient safety, minimally invasive surgical approaches, and evidence-based practices.
In addition, Dr. Rahman has been recognized for his commitment to providing quality digital health services and quality improvement through the addition of electronic medical record/electronic health record (EMR/EHR) systems. He has received certification by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for Meaningful Use Stage 1 and Meaningful Use Stage 2 for EMR/EHR.
