About Dr. Anirban Gupta, MD

Dr. Anirban Gupta, MD, FRCSC, FASMBS, is a general and bariatric surgeon with extensive experience performing both primary and revision bariatric surgeries. Dr. Gupta is well known for taking a patient-centered approach when providing quality, safe, and sustainable surgical care. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Gupta has also developed a keen interest in improving surgical programs through program development, efficiencies within the practice, team building and operational excellence.

Dr. Anirban Gupta obtained his MD degree from The University of Western Ontario (UWO) and completed his General Surgery residency training at The University of Toronto, where he also received his Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) designation. He went on to do an advanced gastrointestinal (GI) minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Johns Hopkins University after his residency training.

Dr. Gupta is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS). He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). He is licensed to practice medicine in both Washington State and California. Dr. Gupta has been awarded the Seattle Met Top Doc from 2018 to 2021, and he has contributed to the research related to bariatric surgery, minimally invasive surgical techniques and hemostatic technology via numerous peer-reviewed publications.
