Dr. Angela J. Glasnapp is a general and bariatric surgeon (MD) who is board-certified with extensive surgical experience, specializing in minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Glasnapp is committed to using both surgical techniques and compassionate, patient-centered care to assist her patients in achieving improved long-term health.
Dr. Glasnapp completed her undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Albany with Cum Laude honors prior to obtaining a Master’s Degree in Biology from Allegheny University in Philadelphia. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine Degree from New York Medical College in 2003. Following her completion of medical school, she completed her General Surgery residency at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan, where she also completed an American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) approved fellowship, which provided her with advanced training in the treatment of obesity with surgical means.
After completing her fellowship, Dr. Glasnapp practiced bariatric surgery in private practice for over ten years in New Jersey and assisted thousands of individuals in attaining their weight loss goals through successful surgical intervention. Dr. Glasnapp then moved to Staten Island, where she served as the Director of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Staten Island University Hospital, which at that time was part of the Northwell Health System.
