About Dr. Angela Guzzetta, MD

Dr. Angela Guzzetta, MD is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in advanced gastrointestinal surgeries as well as minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Guzzetta has extensive training in many of today’s advanced surgical techniques, including, but not limited to, robotic/laparoscopic surgery and has a dedication to improving patient outcomes using innovation, technical precision and evidence-based care.

Dr. Guzzetta earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2007, followed by her general surgery residency at Rutgers Health/New Jersey Medical School from 2007 through 2014. During this time, Dr. Guzzetta gained a great deal of experience performing complex surgical cases. Recognizing the potential to enhance the quality of care provided to her patients, she completed the Advanced GI Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center from 2015 to 2016.

Dr. Guzzetta holds American Board of Surgery Board Certification as well as an active Texas State Medical License. Dr. Guzzetta is also a Fellow Member of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). This indicates that Dr. Guzzetta is committed to upholding high standards in surgical care and continuing professional development. Dr. Guzzetta is also very active in educating and doing research in the field of surgery through her many peer-reviewed publications.
