Dr. Amjad Ali, MD, is a general/bariatric surgeon based out of Erie, PA, who is affiliated with UPMC Hamot and board-certified in both areas. He has over 25 years of clinical experience and provides patients with both surgical and medical methods to help them manage their weight and medical conditions that result from being overweight.
Dr. Ali earned his MD from the Aga Khan Medical College in 1991 and completed his surgical internship and residency at the Rutgers Health/New Jersey Medical School, where he had broad training in general surgery before fellowships (a laparoscopic surgery research fellowship at Duke University Medical Center and a videoendoscopic surgery fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle).
Dr. Ali has both American Board of Surgery and American Board of Obesity Medicine certifications and has the experience to help people obtain the best results for weight management. In addition, Dr. Ali has medical licenses in a variety of states throughout the country, including PA and NY.
Dr. Ali has been able to create a long and comprehensive review of experience related to nutrition, obesity, bariatric surgery, and minimally invasive surgery.
