About Dr. Amit Parikh, DO

Dr. Amit Parikh, DO, FACOS, FACS, is an advanced gastrointestinal surgeon skilled in both traditional surgeries and minimally invasive surgical procedures; he practices advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques with confidence while maintaining a dedication to providing a safe, effective surgical experience employing the latest techniques and minimally invasive approaches.

Dr. Parikh graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 2004 and completed his general surgery residency at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields between 2004 and 2009. While in residency at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, he gained a strong background in complex surgical care, and he completed a fellowship in Advanced GI Minimally Invasive Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine) from 2009 to 2011.

He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Association’s (AOA) Board of Surgery and licensed to practice medicine in both Illinois and Texas. His distinction as a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS) and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) reflects his commitment to providing the highest quality patient care while achieving high standards of surgical practice and excellence throughout his career.
