Dr. Amir H. Aryaie, MD, is a board-certified surgeon who focuses on both bariatric and minimally invasive surgery. He is the founder of the BMI Surgical Institute and is affiliated with the Piedmont Clinic, providing residents of Georgia with full-service and innovative weight loss and gastrointestinal surgical services.
Dr. Aryaie received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and graduated from the Ross University School of Medicine in the top five percent of his graduating class. He finished his residency at The Jewish Hospital, which is affiliated with the University of Cincinnati. He then completed a distinguished fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at University Hospitals Case Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Aryaie worked as an assistant professor of surgery at Texas Tech University Health Science Center from 2016 to 2019 and was also Medical Director and Chief of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at University Medical Center.
Dr. Aryaie is one of the foremost researchers on bariatric and minimally invasive surgery and is an active speaker nationally. He has written and had numerous articles published about the type of surgery done. He belongs to the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons (ASMBS).
