Treating patients with advanced laparoscopic and foregut surgery as well as performing bariatric surgeries by Dr.Amani Munshi, MD, a board-certified general surgeon specializing in these fields, whose experience includes performing complex gastrointestinal procedures such as reflux disease management, hiatal hernia repair and esophageal motility disorder management. She also works as a surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive and robotic hernia repairs with the help of other specialists and has completed her fellowship training in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Canadian universities.
Dr.Amani Munshi was born and raised in Toronto. She graduated from the University of Toronto Neuroscience undergraduate program and subsequently obtained a medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Following completion of surgical residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University, she relocated to Alberta, where she successfully completed a bariatric fellowship, followed by completion of a minimally invasive fellowship at McGill University Health Centre. After working for several years with University Hospitals in Cleveland, she moved to Denver to continue her career as a surgeon.
