Dr. Allen William Cortez received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1991. After earning his degree, he completed his residency in general surgery at the University of California, Davis Health from 1991 to 1997, where he trained extensively in diverse surgeries and the delivery of care.
The American Board of Surgery has credentialed Dr. Cortez as a Board-Certified Surgeon and holds licenses to practice medicine in California and New Hampshire. Dr. Cortez places great emphasis on continuous professional growth and utilizes state-of-the-art technology in health care. He has achieved numerous CMS Meaningful Use Stage 1 Certification awards for using Electronic Health Record systems to improve patient care and has demonstrated his commitment to providing high-quality clinical care with an up-to-date clinical system.
Dr. Cortez is a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS), a professional organization dedicated to advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques and supporting the advancement of laparoscopic surgeons. His membership keeps him knowledgeable about all of the recent advances and developments in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
