About Dr. Alian G. Garay

Dr. Alian G. Garay, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a board-certified General Surgeon who has received Fellowship Training in Advanced Laparoscopic, Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), and Bariatric Surgery. He has been in surgical practice for over 10 years and is dedicated to providing a high quality of care to all patients, resulting in excellent long-term outcomes.

Prior to entering medicine, Dr. Garay served in the United States Armed Forces with distinction and demonstrated a strong commitment to serving his country from early in his career. After receiving an honorable discharge from the armed services, he went on to attend the University of Houston, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude; then went on to receive his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston.

After completing his Surgical Internship and General Surgery Residency at the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver, Dr. Garay continued his education by completing a Bariatric Surgery Fellowship as well as an Advanced Laparoscopic Fellowship, Foregut Fellowship and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship with Legacy Health Systems in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Garay is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), an active member of both the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).
