Dr. Alfredo Daniel Guerron Cruz is well known within the medical community as Dr. Daniel Guerron. He is a general surgeon whose expertise includes advanced gastrointestinal, bariatric, and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Guerron is currently a staff physician at the Digestive Disease Institute within the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, where he is also the Director of the Comprehensive Core Health and Hernia Treatment Center.
Dr. Guerron received his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador; he subsequently spent time doing research in both basic and translational medicine at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC, establishing a strong base of knowledge in the science of surgery and its innovations. He then completed his general surgery residency with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, where he received the prestigious 2015 Steiger Award for having significantly advanced the science of surgery through his extensive research contributions during his time as an intern.
Dr. Guerron was able to further specialize by completing an Advanced Gastrointestinal Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship with Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Guerron’s clinical interests include, but are not limited to, those associated with abdominal wall reconstruction, complex hernia repairs and metabolic/bariatric surgery.
