Dr. Alfred C. Trang is a physician certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a General Surgeon with specialized training and skills in Advanced GI and Minimally Invasive Surgery, as well as Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery. He attended Medical School at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University, and graduated in 2001. He completed his General Surgery Residency from 2001-2006 at the Allegheny Health Network Medical Education Consortium (consisting of Allegheny General Hospital).
To refine his surgical skills, Dr. Trang completed a Fellowship in Advanced GI & Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, from 2006-2007. This Fellowship provided him with a wealth of experience performing Laparoscopic Surgery and Complex GI Surgery, using techniques that improve patients’ outcomes and recovery time.
Dr. Trang is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is licensed to practice Medicine in Pennsylvania and has previously practiced in New York State. He is a member of the following organizations: American College of Surgeons (ACS), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
