Dr. Albert H. Im, MD, specializes in bariatric and general surgery using minimally invasive techniques. He earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University’s medical school, then completed his surgical residency at New York Medical College. After completing a fellowship in Advanced Laparoendoscopic and Bariatric Surgery at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut, he began his practice as a bariatric and laparoscopic surgeon.
Since joining Kaiser Permanente in 2005, Dr. Im has utilized his skills as a laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon to assist patients in maintaining weight loss and improving their overall health. Dr. Im emphasizes the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques, which allow for quicker recovery times, less scarring, fewer complications, and increased patient safety.
Originally from Battle Creek, Michigan, Dr. Im is a proud Michigander. He now resides in the Bay Area with his two children and wife. In addition to his love for medicine, Dr. Im enjoys outdoor activities such as downhill skiing and spending as much time as possible with his family. Dr. Im is employed at Richmond Medical Center, where his vast experience as a surgeon and his caring nature produce excellent results for patients undergoing bariatric and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
