Dr Alan R. Posner, MD, is a Board Certified General surgeon with specialisation in bariatric and metabolic surgery. He has been working towards developing surgical care using investigative practices to improve patient outcomes through evidenced based practices. Dr. Posner received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed his residency in General Surgery at the University at Buffalo. Dr. Posner is an American Board of Surgery and a New York State Licensed Physician.
During his career, Dr. Posner has continually conducted both clinical practice and research that examines how genetics, metabolic pathways, and precision medicine will predict bariatric surgical outcomes and also enhance long-term patient outcomes. Dr. Posner has published a wide variety of research studies that have appeared in various peer-reviewed journals and have expanded the body of knowledge regarding metabolic and bariatric surgery.
He is experienced using modern technologies in healthcare, including electronic health records (EHR), which assist with the coordination and efficiency of patient care. Additionally, Dr. Posner is a member of the American College of Surgeons, further illustrating his dedication to high-quality standards of practice, research, and providing patient-centered care within the surgical field.
