About Dr. Alan H. Brader

Dr. Alan H. Brader is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in surgical critical care and obesity medicine. He has a wide range of clinical experience in treating complicated surgical diseases and providing care for critically ill patients and those who require assistance with metabolism or weight loss.

Dr. Brader received his doctorate in Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh, followed by his general surgical residency through Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University Hospital. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Lehigh Valley Health Network, giving him an advanced level of training to care for surgical patients who are severely ill and to perform complex surgeries.

Dr. Brader is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and obtained board certification from the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He is licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia and shows a desire to treat his patients with both surgical and non-surgical methods to eliminate obesity and obesity-related conditions. In addition to being a clinician, Dr. Brader has been involved in academic research, with publications about trauma and surgical care in peer-reviewed journals, such as The Journal of Trauma.
