Dr. Aaron G. Baggs, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.M.B.S. is a board-certified general surgeon who has undergone additional training to specialise in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery. Born in a Kaiser Permanente hospital, Dr. Baggs established an early bond with Kaiser and ultimately chose to develop his surgical career through Kaiser Medical Centres.
He completed surgical residencies in Worcester, MA, and the Harvard Critical Care Research Fellowship in Boston. After moving to California, he completed additional training in open, advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and he has Fellowship status from both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons. Dr. Baggs is a member of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and the Society for American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
In addition, Dr. Baggs has served as a Medical Officer for the surgical mission group: Traditional Healing Ways. He has participated in recurring medical missions to provide surgical care and medical education to underserved communities in the Philippines. Dr. Baggs has developed a particular interest in preventive health due to his family’s experience with breast cancer. In his free time, Dr. Baggs enjoys hiking, camping, scuba diving, gardening and spending time with his family.
