About Andrew J. Duffy

Dr. Andrew J. Duffy, who has been board-certified in General Surgery and has completed Fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery, is a recognized leader in Clinical Education. He also serves as the Associate Surgical Chief of the Digestive Health Service Line, and he serves as the Medical Director of the Yale–New Haven Health Hernia Center. He has developed a series of unique programs that integrate Abdominal Wall Reconstruction, Bariatric Surgery, and Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery.

As a board-certified Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeon, Dr. Duffy is recognized nationally for his contributions to surgical education and has developed numerous simulation-based training programs and innovative educational tools for Resident Surgeons at Yale.

Dr. Duffy’s clinical practice is committed to delivering the highest quality of Surgical Care with the least amount of postoperative pain and disruption to patients. He specializes in the management of complex primary and recurrent hernias, as well as complications associated with mesh, and utilizes Minimally Invasive Surgical techniques for the treatment of diseases affecting the Stomach, Small and Large Intestines, Gallbladder and Esophagus. His clinical expertise includes the management of high abdominal hernias (Hiatal Hernia), treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), surgical treatment of Achalasia, and advanced Bariatric Surgery (Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy), as well as Revisional Surgery.
